Starting Some Youngsters at Edinburgh and Lasswade Riding Stables
I have known Karon for 3 years professionally.
During this time Karon has schooled my dressage horses to establish their flatwork and the further their training.
She has taught my daughter and helped her to gain a place on the British Young Riders Dressage Squad and then a team place. In May 2009, she travelled with us to Ireland for an International competition where she played a huge role in preparing not only my daughter and her horse for each class, but the whole team.
When I am away from home I am fully confident to leave Karon in charge of the horses. I know that they will be cared for to the highest of standards.
Karon is an extremely talented horsewoman. Her groundwork is exemplary and she rides with skill and confidence. She is totally trustworthy, hard working and good fun too. She is extremely reliable and will always go the extra mile if required.
I have no reservations about recommending Karon to a future employer.

Karon is a charismatic young instructor with the experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to inspire all the pupils she coaches.
Deveron Branch of the Pony Club have been lucky enough to have her instruct for them at rallies and camps for about six years and I have had the pleasure of working with her both as an instructor and more recently as DC of the club.
Members attending camp are always delighted to be put in Karon's ride and they are guaranteed to enjoy themselves and achieve an enormous amount with Karon's help both on and off their horses. She is totally committed to helping her pupils and can relate to members of all ages and abilities.
Karon is never one to shirk the work and always joins in the fun!!

Karon has been associated with East Lothian Pony Club for many years. During that time she has instructed at our grass roots rallies with all age ranges; and has been involved with the more intense training for our older members especially when team training.
During this time Karon has always conducted herself in a professional manner, she is always courteous and knowledgeable in her work. She has high standards, she is firm but fair, and manages to extract the best from her pupils with whom she is very popular.
Karon is a valued member of the East Lothian Instructors team and we highly recommend her.

My young mare and I had a bad start to the season with our first time xc training being a disaster, after being chased and screamed at over a jump my horse got caught and got a real fright, after retiring from the training and getting her home. I then found she wouldnt even go over a trotting pole on the ground getting her self into a real state sweating and getting dangerous. I had tried everything and though I would have to give up and stick to dressage.
I then after a lot of pressure agreed to give it another go and my friend and I went to a xc traing with Karon and I have never looked back, Karon was great from the very start of my first lesson, taken things slowly starting with trotting poles and progressed to logs and small fences, I have been to 5 xc traing lessons with Karon over the season and my mare now jumps everything from standard xc fences to drops, key holes, ditches, water complexes without being chased and screamed at which Karon just wouldnt do and my mare loves it now which is so nice to see.
We done a one day event and came 2nd I would never have done this without Karons training. Our flatwork is also so much better and getting good scores and comments now out at dressage after my flat lessons with her too.
I think a lot of trainers out there could learn a lot from Karon she is very knowledgeable and has great experience with young and difficult horses. She is very sympathetic and understanding she doesnt push you but at the same time gets you to do things you didnt think you could do, I always feel you come out of her training with so much confidence and trust in your horse. Karon has been there and done it herself so I feel she understands everyones needs whatever level you ride at. I highly recommend Karon for any discipline of riding she will get the best out of you and your horse.
She has been the making of my mare and I cant thank her enough for her help, I just wish she lived closer to us but cant have everything I suppose.

Two lessons from Karon put me absolutely on track, she has an amazing ability to very quickly understand both the horse and riders needs.
When I first met Karon I was playing at Cross Country over mini-minimus fences but within the same season I completed my first BE90.
Not only is Karon an excellent trainer, she is so positive, encouraging and friendly.
I certainly wouldnt be sitting planning my next BE season without Karons help, I just wished she lived closer
